Funny how some leaves
Fall before they turn.
They have a hint of yellowness,
With no trace of the vibrant
Orange or red that marks
Autumn beauty.
They bail out prematurely,
Taking the show early,
Choosing for some reason
To not be changed
Into glorious fall expressiveness.
They choose to crumple and rust
Among the dying blades
Of late season grass.
What a season to behold.
